Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label released her first EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began to gain recognition. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first released her music on the internet in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013, Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound along with her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on July 21st. In the following year, her music was circulating throughout the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some potential references to Rihanna. Then, in December of 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna had been signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs she recorded with Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. In October 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and was an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018 she went on to appear on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video then released in September. Her second single Grampa on November 9. She then released on the 13th of November two singles called The No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole in her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. This track, which was made available with a video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times within the first 7 days. She supported the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
